But What did She Wear? 2015 Oscar Fashion Awards

Best Dressed

Rosamund Pike

Red was certainly the look of the night, as many of the stars were decked out in the rich hue. Rosamund Pike looked absolutely incredible in this red ensemble by Givenchy. The detailing works so well on camera and the pop of leg makes this look powerful. The strappy red sandals tie the look together so well. This was a sweet change from that ill-fitting dress she wore at Emmy’s.

Lupita-Nyongo

Lupita Nyong’o gives us high fashion in this Calvin Klein gown dripping in 6,000 pearls. Yes, six-zero- zero-zero! That’s a whole lot of pearls! There are no words that will do justice to this dress. Lupita knows how to dress for the red carpet. She is truly a vision in this piece.

Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon opted for a classic black and white look, wowing us in this Tom Ford gown. The fit is so flattering and feminine, with the black band cinching at the waist giving her a beautiful hourglass shape. The perfect accessory? Her megawatt smile.

DakotaJohnson

Girl of the Year, Dakota Johnson, stuns in this simple, fire engine red gown by Yves Saint Laurent. With a slit cut in just the right place, this dress wows in a very understated way, that still manages to bring the glamor.

NaomiWatt

Armani was the true winner of the night, with Naomi Watts in the most original gown to walk the red carpet Oscar night. With her understated hair and the bandeau underneath, it felt youthful and fresh.

BehatiPrinsloo

Another gorgeous masterpiece that walked the red carpet last night worn by Behati Prinsloo in Armani Prive. The red and black snow-like detail and lace overlay is so vampy and chic. I want to kiss her stylist for the inclusion of that necklace, it adds to the outfit in so many ways, thanks to the low neckline of the bodice. Adam Levine looks cute in Armani, as well.

As a pale redhead, it’s important to choose shades that complement the coppery color of your hair. This charmeuse, Elie Saab gown was covered in impeccable beadwork. My only fault with this look are the shoes. The shoes are a no for me, simply because they are too prom-like.

Margot Robbie

I’m positive this is going to be a good year for Margot Robbie with her upcoming roles in Focus opposite Will Smith and as Harley Quinn in the highly anticipated Suicide Squad this year. With this Yves Saint Laurent look, she definitely turns heads. In case you were wondering, this is how you wear black on the red carpet.

Scarlet Johansson

The red carpet would not be the same without a little ScarJo in Versace. Scarlet Johansson stuns in this evergreen gown with a complementary gorgeous necklace that would be costume-y on anyone else. I am not sure about the edgy haircut, with the buzzed look on the sides, but ScarJo is so pretty she can almost pull anything off.

Worst Dressed:

No Oscars fashion list is complete without the worst looks of the night. Here’s to all the looks that caused us to stop, cringe and wonder what their stylists were thinking.

Lady Gaga

Those gloves are a travesty. I can stomach the dress, but the gloves have got to go. And that piece on the back of her head looks like a mistake she threw on while heading out the door.

Sienna Miller

Sienna Miller is a gorgeous girl, but this dress is too busy. The bows are an odd addition to what might have been a really nice piece from Nordstrom. And the lace at the bottom makes this dress look like several different things happening at once

Jenniffer Aniston

This dress is an incredible piece of art and Jennifer Aniston has an amazing body, but her hair and her makeup fall flat, making the entire look underwhelming. Maybe a middle part of a high ponytail would make this outfit standout. Kudos to her fiance, Justin Theroux on the ultimate accessory though, that engagement ring is stunning!

Gwyneth Paltrow

I love the shade of this gown on Gwyneth Paltrow, but I don’t get the flower. It looks like a tragic bridesmaid dress. Be weary about what you do with the shoulders. This dress would have been just great without all that kindergarten paper mache work on the sleeve.

Until next year ladies and gents! Let us know which look was your fave and which one made you cringe!
