The President released an early morning tweet, declaring that “nice and new and smart” missiles would be fired at Syria. The problem with this declaration? None of his staff or the US military allies knew about this decision. This is not new for the sitting president. He often allows his mood or newsfeed to determine what he tweets, but he has never released military information in this way.
This comes after another devastating attack in war-torn Syria. President Trump is actively exploring military options in response to the attacks that killed so many this past weekend. Those who disagree with our military involvement argue that we need to be sure it was the Syrian regime who launched the attack.
Here is the actual Tweet
Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!” You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!
