On June 20th, Jaws celebrates it’s 40th Anniversary, which not only makes me feel really old, but also makes me think back to the first time I saw the shark terrorize innocent beach goers. In my humble, movie-watcher opinion, Spielberg is the master of suspense. We are in a time now, where it’s all about gore and blood, but this movie was more focused on the build-up, the holding your breath moments. Don’t get me wrong, there was gore, but I look back and remember the two – note musical build-up, and the inevitable quiet before the bite. That is what makes this movie, still to this day, one of the scariest movies of all time. Check out the link before for 40 interesting things you didn’t know about Jaws.
